We opened a modern sports ground with a pumptrack and a meeting spot for residents of Hloubětín

We involved the general public in the design of the revitalization of the area and invited progressive young architects from U/U Studio, as well as experienced designers from the Czech branch of the Austrian company Schneestern, which builds high-quality asphalt pumptracks.

"The need for a place for sports activities for older children and adults was repeatedly voiced at the public meeting. The Rokytka River and the natural areas connected to it, on the other hand, encouraged relaxation and active leisure. That is why we have placed a leisure area with a pumptrack and a 3-in-1 multifunctional playground in the area near the Zahrádky Park in Prague 9, which aims to encourage the development of creativity, interaction between visitors in sports activities and the establishment of new friendships," says Filip Adámek, Creative Mind of Dejsiprostor. The smooth concrete surface ended with a radius is ideal for roller sports, while football goals or basketball hoops provide a backdrop for ball games.

The nearby A26 cycle path connecting the eastern part of Prague with the city centre and the Vysočany inline trail in Triangl Park are complemented by a mini U-ramp and a newly completed asphalt pumptrack suitable for all kinds of roller sports. "The pumptrack is a popular place for cyclists, skateboarders and for those who like to enjoy adrenaline activities, and its integration into the area gives visitors the opportunity to spend time in an active way or to engage in these sports in a new way," says Martin Hrouda, Architect from U/U Studio, which designed the final concept of the public space at the Hloubětín.

PUMPTRACKS ARE "COOL" NOWADAYS

Moreover, pumptracks are experiencing a huge boom in the Czech Republic. "They are intended for the general public from small children to the elderly and professional athletes. Riding on it engages the whole body and mind, while at the same time teaching the rider to work better with the centre of gravity and generally improving stability, which can later be used when riding off-road. The great advantage of asphalt pumptracks is the possibility of year-round enjoyment. If there is one endlessly fun sporting venue, it is definitely pumptrack," says Filip Majkus, Project Manager at Schneestern, which designed and built the pumptrack in Hloubětín.

The pumptrack in Triangle Park is complemented by a unique elevated large terrace with open views of the entire area and the action on the adrenaline track.

The Triangl Park leisure area also includes grassy terrain waves with workout elements and seating, bringing more greenery to the area and plenty of privacy for undisturbed relaxation. A bistro with regular opening hours, public toilets and a regular cultural and sports programme for all ages complete the idea of a new local centre.

WE LIVE IN COMMUNITY

"We like to connect with locals and give them the opportunity to make a difference in our community. Every Thursday during the holidays we organize open-air Zumba dance lessons with instructor Verča Finferová, Tuesdays belong to circuit training with Kuba Petrák, and from September we will start skateboard workshops for children with Kuba Páv, an experienced Skate Academy instructor. We want to offer sport activities for local families with children and also the possibility of a club for schoolchildren of Elektra Primary School, which will newly open in September in Prague 9," says Michaela Bugrisová, Community Manager of the Triangl Park leisure complex.

"Among other things, we have monthly themed events accompanied by live music performances and barbecues, which have quickly gained popularity with locals. We recommend following our Triangl Park social networks or the community bulletin board on site, which works very well," adds Bugrisová from Dejsiprostor company.
