Mezi Vodami, offices in Modřany

Mezi Vodami is a glazed, U-shaped building on the edge of Modřany, built in 2006 on the site of the former Orion chocolate factory and LEED Gold certified. At its center is a glazed atrium with mature greenery, a water feature and a café where you can even take a client. It suits companies of roughly 25 people and up who want peace and greenery within reach, but not at the cost of a long commute.

Life in the building: In the morning you arrive via the cycle path, leave your bike in storage and take a shower. Guests are handled by the reception and then let through the turnstiles. You don't need to leave for lunch — the building has a canteen for all tenants and a Coffee House in the atrium, where you can even sit over a contract. You can store archives and seasonal items in the basement storage rooms, and leave your car in the garages below the building, where the barrier opens via camera license plate recognition. You control heating and cooling yourself, and the windows can be opened and have internal blinds. The building is guarded by security around the clock.

Surroundings and transport: It's a two-minute walk to the Belárie tram stop, and four minutes by car to the City Ring Road (Městský okruh). The Modřany cycle path runs 450 meters from the building and leads along the Vltava all the way to the city center; Braník and Modřany train stations are within two kilometers. For lunch people go to Rosmarina or the Vietnamese An Ngon just near the building. The Vltava is within view, with Chuchelský háj beyond it, and a ferry runs across the river from Belárie.
